(9.02pm) My CD writer has been completely useless since December. Yesterday I finally broke down and bought a combo CD-RW+DVD-Rom. Thing is-I hate opening up my case. Since my first computer fried I am always worried that when I put her back together and push the power button, nothing will happen. Mostly because all I know about the inside of my computer- I learned from watching others. Basically I know enough to get me in to trouble and not enough to repair anything that may go wrong. So, wish me luck. UPDATE (10.20pm) YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes, I love it when I am wrong. My old burner is now working. Apparently I had some master/slave issues. (The story of my life really.) Anyway I slapped a new silver round cable on there-just because it looks all sparkly through the side window. And now I'm all set. I think I'll keep the new combo drive, but installation has been postponed.
