Saturday, Saturday, Saturday

Had a big day last Saturday. Friday night I stayed home so it was no’t hard to be up and showered by 8am Saturday morning. I was totally going to be at the art connection as soon as it opened. Then I got online, started returning e-mails and blah, blah, blah… I did n’ot get there until some time after 12. Lucky for me the art was still there waiting for me. And it was all delightfully brilliant! Because of my job, I actually knew some of the artists this year. Dan Bynum, Xander Booker, and Doug Baulos. I did no’t have $250 to drop on a painting by Dan so I went for one of Doug’s smaller pieces for the bargain price of $22. From a distance it simply looks like an old framed portrait but close up you cannot make out the face. It is blurred almost as if it is a picture of someone’s soul instead of her flesh. Very creepy and I love it. Saturday evening I met HemisphereDancer for dinner. I WAS ON TIME. My being on time is not unheard of but certainly a rarity to behold. Dinner was great and I now have enough dirt on HD to blackmail him into taking me along on his next trip. Johannesburg, or burst!
